Father knows best

Well, my Dad came through with the bestcomment to the blog so far. He commented, "Enough about the snow! What about Anya?"
Dads kind of a cut to the chase kinda guy, so here it is. I will comment in real time for now, and use flashbacks to catch you up on our great adventure of the trip over.

So here's the deal. Made it here. Got to see Anastasia. Went to court. Got awarded custody. Went to bed. Got up and ate. Now we are going to leave in a few minutes to go shopping, since we neglected to pack ANY of the dozen or so boots and stuff we already bought for Anastasia. After that , we go to the orphanage and pick her up. The orphanage  director has agreed to allow us to keep her with us for the ten day period, so we"ll be able to bond and get acquainted with one another. We are all very excited, as you can imagine. The days will be MUCH more full than we expected. Yea!

  1. Cameron,
We are so happy for you! The kindergartners at St. Mary said to tell you that it's not snowing here in Mobile, AL but raining. Surprised? We love you and miss you. We pray for your family including Anya to have a safe trip home.
P.S. Someone whose initials are C.C. told me to remind you not to leave Anya when it's time to come home.

  2. That is what I would expect from Grandpa Mac. This is exciting. Thanks for letting us follow your adventure via this blog. Give my love to Leanna and Cameron (and Anastasia).

  3. So glad to know you all finally made it! I kept watching for word. By now you should be a family of four - wow! Hope you found some boots - don't think Leanna's hooker heels will get much traction in that snow. We look forward to following along - and to hell with the spell check - much more important things to think about! Love you all!

  5. That is so great!!!! It sounds like the court hearing was anticlimactic to the trip getting there. Enjoy every minute of your new family!
